I am the founder, lead guitarist & lead vocalist for POPROX HAWAII, an 80s Tribute show designed to perform in any size of events and at any location in the world.

Our overseas touring experiences have taken us to the Middle East where we performed in Kuwait and Qatar in 2022, in Paris, France in 2019, with many more cities and countries on our tour schedule ahead of us.

Here in Hawaii, we perform in Honolulu’s major venues: Hale Koa Barefoot Bar, The Hard Rock Cafe, Hilton Tapa Bar, Hibiscus Club, BayView, Cuckoo Coconuts in Waikiki, the Waikiki Yacht Club, and the Elks Club.

Our performances feature the 80s hits by Billy Idol, David Bowie, Def Leppard, U2, Prince, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Van Halen, Aha, Journey, Boy George, Flock of Seagulls, The Cars, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Information Society, Men At Work, Dead or Alive, Human League, Men Without Hats, Fine Young Cannibals, Lady Gaga, the Bangles, Whitney Houston, Cher, JayLo, The Police, Steely Dan, Bryan Adams, Earth Wind & Fire, Toto, Simple Minds, Wang Chung, ZZ Top, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Boz Scaggs, Chicago, Lionel Richie, Gino Vannelli, and so much more.

********* MEET THE PLAYERS of POPROX HAWAII **********

JOHN R BORJA: Founder & bandleader of POPROX HAWAII. I am the lead guitarist & lead vocalist with performances at Disneyland's Tomorrowland in Anaheim, showrooms & venues throughout Paris, France, Southern California, Hawaii, Reno, Laughlin, Denver, Las Vegas, Tahiti, Guam, in (6) MWR tours performing in Qatar, Kuwait, Tokyo & Hiroshima, Japan. I have toured the Northwestern U.S. and Canada with my show groups and have also performed in concerts as Music Director (MD)and lead guitarist for Stevie Wonder, and worked in music events with Chaka Khan and Toni Braxton.

I have opened concerts for The Doobie Brothers, America, Ronnie Laws, Norman Brown, and Spyro Gyra; published (2) CDs under my very own Tahitian Dreams record label.

As a writer & producing member of ASCAP since 1991 with multiple credits on recordings with several artists, I've also produced and co-produced music for KPBS, Polynesie Premiere and RFO France as an associate member of SACEM France.

I am a proud endorsee of Brian Moore Custom Guitars and iGuitar, and a long standing member of ASCAP & NAMM. In 2023, all performances are with my IBANEZ JIVA X as well as my newest FU-TONE FU-PRO Trans-Purple guitars.

BEN "Benji" JUAN is my drummer from Ewa Beach, Hawaii. He has performed with the "Society of Seven" and with the Hawaii show group "Honolulu". Benji is an original member of POPROX HAWAII since its inception in October 2015. As an endorsee, Benji performs on the newest Roland VAD-506 Electronic drums for all PopRox Hawaii shows. Benji performs with POPROX HAWAII on all local, national and international tours & playdates.

ANNEMARIE LOVE performed with POPROX HAWAII in the summer 2019 Tour to Paris, France and rejoined PopRox Hawaii as our female lead vocalist for all of our MWR Tours and International playdates.
